Social Media Specialist

General Summary:
We’re looking for a Social Media Executive to join the growing EMEA PAY TV social team to help execute on strategy, community management and content management across flagship brands. The ideal candidate will be a digital native, with a strong interest in how content is consumed across the biggest publishers in the digital sphere. They will report into the Senior Social Media Strategist and be tasked with day-to-day ownership of key central social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, including growing awareness and engagement, testing & learning optimization and social monetisation. They will focus on EMEA brands like Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, HGTV. The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual who can multi-task. Problem solving will be at the forefront of working as a Social Media Specialist, with deep knowledge of what makes our audiences tick and a keen interest in the ever-evolving trends of the social media landscape. They will have the ability to collaborate effectively, improving partnerships and sparking further opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Key point of contact for community management of key centralized platforms across flagship brands
• Become the main point of contact for asset delivery and tracking across EMEA, ensuring asset maximization across the PayTV scope
• Develop and execute social media strategy based on business needs and focus, in line with the overall content strategy for focused platforms
• Create a test and learn environment within owned platforms to optimise social media content
• Overall responsibility for the community management, including cross-posting across multiple regions and in some cases asset creation using in-house tools
• Grow and develop audiences in focused social projects across centralised European-based accounts
• Best practice and support across social asset delivery from the US nets
• Keep up to date with trends and developments both internal and external to contribute and inspire with key learnings, best practice and new ideas
• Work closely with the PR, Creative, Programming and Media Planning teams to maximize synergy and promotional opportunities
• Coordinate collation of materials and information from the regional hubs
• Coordinate access for various in-house tools for social listening, publishing, measurement and asset creation
• Support campaigns using paid media across key social media platforms in different formats

Requirements:
• At least 2 years’ experience in digital and social media (agency, broadcaster or in-house) working across Social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube) with a clear understanding of their different formats and nuances
• Excellent communication, writing skills are essential
• Knowledge in setting up paid campaigns across Facebook Business Manager, Twitter ads and YouTube adwords
• The ability to strike a nice balance between creativity, social and technical
• Experience working with foreign languages/digital formats is an advantage
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Can be relied upon to take initiative and responsibility
• Knowledge of edit based software such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Photoshop an advantage but not essential
