Account Business Manager

Location: Amsterdam
Reports to: Director Affiliate Sales

General Summary:
The Affiliate Business Manager will work in the Benelux Affiliate Sales team based in Amsterdam. Reporting to the Director Affiliate sales, this role will focus on deal analysis, planning as well as execution of the Affiliate Sales business in day-to-day account management. In this role, you work closely together with the local business, marketing and portfolio teams and the Center of Excellence in Warsaw. Solving contract issues, safeguarding Commercial Policies and offering contract support. Implementing and ongoing review of the agreed Distribution (strategy) plan, meeting KPI’s (subs, revenue, Channels, ARPU, contracts).You really have to feel comfortable working in an international matrix organization with different stakeholders and expertises.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deal analysis Affiliate renewals
• Executing content deal (re-)negotiations with Affiliate clients (operators)
• First point of contact to Center of Excellence in Warsaw; reviewing forecasting and financial management of Affiliate contracts within the internal budget processes
• Account management: translating the needs of our clients to the relevant departments within Discovery (Legal/ Finance/ Technology / Marketing/ Creative)
• Contract management for your accounts (operators) with Legal
• Distribution marketing (setting up marketing campaigns together with the Operators and our internal Marketing department)
• Stay up to date of relevant developments within the landscape of content distribution
• Achievement of all aspects of the Distribution Plan KPIs
• Support leadership in preparation of Distribution strategy Plan
• Effective dealing with all administrative requirements of the role e.g., general reporting, e-mail, etc., all completed in a timely and professional manner
• To ensure all internal and external communications present and mirror the Discovery Distribution image and brand

• Education HBO/ University (bachelor) graduate: financial/ commercial competence is a plus
• Minimum level of professional experience 3 – 5 years
• MS Excel skills to a high level (eg: advanced formulas, pivots and modelling)
• Displays strong analytical and problem-solving skills next to having true diplomatic skills: creating and maintaining strong internal as well as external relationships
• Is keen, friendly, professional and has a positive attitude
• Is able to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure while showing excellent attention to detail
• Is able to multi-task and set priorities
• Excellent Dutch and English language skills
